# Quickstart

> Go from install to your first tracked cart in about 10 minutes.

This guide takes you through the setup that every store needs. When you finish, the cart widget is live on your storefront and new carts appear on your dashboard.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Before you start:** you need permission to install apps and edit themes in your Shopify admin (store owner, or staff with **Apps** and **Themes** access).

**1. Install the app and choose a plan**

Install **CB Customer Cart Manager** from the Shopify App Store. Shopify then shows the plan selection page.

Pick a plan to continue — the **Free** plan counts too. The app opens only after a plan is active on your store. If you close the page without picking one, you're brought back to it the next time you open the app.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Cart tracking, draft orders and the support form are part of the paid plans. On Free, the dashboard opens but carts are not recorded. See [Plans & billing](https://codebeans-customer-cart-manager.mintlify.site/plans-and-billing.md) to compare.

**2. Switch on the app embed**

The storefront widget and cart tracking run through an **app embed** in your theme.

1. In the app, open the home page. The **Setup Guide** appears at the top.
2. Under **Initial Set Up**, click **Enable App Embed**. Your theme editor opens in a new tab with the app embed selected.
3. Make sure **Cb Customer Cart Widget** is switched on, then click **Save** in the theme editor.
4. Come back to the app. After a few seconds the step shows an **Activated** badge.

Full details and screenshots of each option are in [Turn on the app embed](https://codebeans-customer-cart-manager.mintlify.site/storefront/app-embed.md).

**3. Choose your widget design**

In the Setup Guide, click **Go to Templates** (or open **Settings → General settings → Modify Cart Widget**).

Pick one of the nine ready-made designs, or click **✦ Create Custom Design** to match your brand. Click **Save Template**.

See [Widget templates](https://codebeans-customer-cart-manager.mintlify.site/storefront/widget-templates.md) for previews of every design.

**4. Configure your settings**

Click **Go to Settings** and review the tabs:

* **Widget Visibility** — who sees the widget (everyone, logged-in customers, or guests) and on which pages. The default is the cart page only.
* **Popup & Support** — the optional popup, exit-intent trigger, and the support form your shoppers fill in.
* **Notifications** — email alerts for you and your customers when a support request comes in.

Click **Save** in the bar at the top of the page.

**5. Test it on your storefront**

1. Open your online store in a new browser window (an incognito window works well).
2. Add any product to your cart and open the cart page or cart drawer.
3. You should see the widget with **Your Cart ID: …**.
4. In the app, open **Dashboard**. Your test cart appears within a few seconds under **All Carts** and **Live Carts**.

> [!TIP]
>
> That's it — your store is now tracking carts. Click **View Details** on the cart to explore everything you can do with it.

## If something doesn't show up

> **The widget isn't on my cart page**
>
> Check that the app embed is switched on **and saved** in your *live* theme, and that **Cart Page** is ticked in **Settings → Widget Visibility**. If your theme is heavily customised, see [Theme compatibility](https://codebeans-customer-cart-manager.mintlify.site/storefront/theme-compatibility.md).

> **My test cart isn't on the dashboard**
>
> Make sure you're on a paid plan — the Free plan doesn't record carts. The dashboard refreshes by itself every few seconds; switching back to the app tab also refreshes it. More fixes are in [Troubleshooting](https://codebeans-customer-cart-manager.mintlify.site/help/troubleshooting.md).
