Fees & Surcharges adds extra charges to a shopper’s order based on rules you set. A fee can be a flat amount or a percentage, apply to the whole order or only to certain products, and be limited to certain countries. Shoppers see each fee as its own line in the cart and at checkout, with the name and image you choose. They can’t remove it or change its quantity.

What you can charge

You start from one of these presets or from a blank fee.

How it works

1

Create a fee

In the app, open Fees & Surcharges and click Create fee. Choose the price and when it applies. The live preview shows exactly what a test cart would be charged. Create a fee →
2

Turn on the app embed

Switch on Cb Fees & Surcharges in your theme’s app embeds so the fee shows as its own cart line. Storefront setup →
3

Watch what fees earn

Fee revenue and profit appear on the Fees page and in Analytics (Advanced plan and above). Reporting →

Where fees are charged

Fees are priced by Shopify itself at checkout (through a cart transform), so they are charged even where the storefront script can’t run — for example Buy it now buttons. There, the fee is added inside the product’s line instead of as a separate line.

Fees by plan

You can create as many fees as you like as drafts; the limit is on fees that are active at the same time. See Plans & billing.
Fees work on every Shopify plan — you don’t need Shopify Plus.
