Go to Email Notifications → SMTP Setup and choose an Email Provider.
Works out of the box — there’s nothing to configure.Emails are sent by Codebeans with the sender name Customer Support. Shoppers who reply reach the Codebeans sending address, not you — so if you want replies to come to your inbox, use your own SMTP server.

Server Details

Fill in all four fields — host, port, username and password. If any of them is empty, emails quietly fall back to the default CB server.
Most providers need an app password or API key for SMTP, not your normal login password. Google and Microsoft accounts with two-step verification always do.

Sender Identity

This name and email will appear in the customer’s inbox. Use a sender email your provider lets you send from — usually the same address as the SMTP username, or an address on a domain you’ve verified with the provider. Otherwise emails may be rejected or land in spam. Click Save at the top of the page.

Test your setup

Open any template from the Customer Alerts or Merchant Alerts tab and use Send Test Email. If the test arrives, your settings work. See Email templates.

Troubleshooting

Check your spam folder first. Then check the host, port and the Use SSL/TLS box — port 465 needs it ticked, port 587 needs it unticked — and make sure you’re using an app password or API key where your provider requires one.
Your custom server isn’t being used. Make sure Use Custom SMTP Server is selected and that host, port, username and password are all filled in, then save.
Use a sender email on your own domain and make sure that domain has SPF and DKIM records set up with your email provider.
Choose CB SMTP Server (Default) and click Save. Your custom server details are kept in case you switch back.
