Before you start: you need permission to install apps and edit themes in your Shopify admin (store owner, or staff with Apps and Themes access).
1
Install the app and choose a plan
Install CB Customer Cart Manager from the Shopify App Store. Shopify then shows the plan selection page.Pick a plan to continue — the Free plan counts too. The app opens only after a plan is active on your store. If you close the page without picking one, you’re brought back to it the next time you open the app.
Cart tracking, draft orders and the support form are part of the paid plans. On Free, the dashboard opens but carts are not recorded. See Plans & billing to compare.
2
Switch on the app embed
The storefront widget and cart tracking run through an app embed in your theme.
- In the app, open the home page. The Setup Guide appears at the top.
- Under Initial Set Up, click Enable App Embed. Your theme editor opens in a new tab with the app embed selected.
- Make sure Cb Customer Cart Widget is switched on, then click Save in the theme editor.
- Come back to the app. After a few seconds the step shows an Activated badge.
3
Choose your widget design
In the Setup Guide, click Go to Templates (or open Settings → General settings → Modify Cart Widget).Pick one of the nine ready-made designs, or click ✦ Create Custom Design to match your brand. Click Save Template.See Widget templates for previews of every design.
4
Configure your settings
Click Go to Settings and review the tabs:
- Widget Visibility — who sees the widget (everyone, logged-in customers, or guests) and on which pages. The default is the cart page only.
- Popup & Support — the optional popup, exit-intent trigger, and the support form your shoppers fill in.
- Notifications — email alerts for you and your customers when a support request comes in.
5
Test it on your storefront
- Open your online store in a new browser window (an incognito window works well).
- Add any product to your cart and open the cart page or cart drawer.
- You should see the widget with Your Cart ID: ….
- In the app, open Dashboard. Your test cart appears within a few seconds under All Carts and Live Carts.
That’s it — your store is now tracking carts. Click View Details on the cart to explore everything you can do with it.

Check that the app embed is switched on and saved in your live theme, and that Cart Page is ticked in Settings → Widget Visibility. If your theme is heavily customised, see Theme compatibility.

My test cart isn't on the dashboard
Make sure you’re on a paid plan — the Free plan doesn’t record carts. The dashboard refreshes by itself every few seconds; switching back to the app tab also refreshes it. More fixes are in Troubleshooting.
